Amalgamated Plantations
Corporate Identity – Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. – 2022
India's first Corporate Farmer, given a face.
The Challenge
An entity without precedent needed an identity without borrowed conventions. Amalgamated Plantations stood as one of India's boldest experiments in ownership – 60,000 acres across the northeast, held not by a single proprietor but by a rare alliance of workers, shareholders, and institutions like The World Bank. As the company set its sights on the retail sector as a primary customer, it needed a visual identity capable of a dual feat: signalling the scale and credibility of a serious corporate entity, while staying rooted in the soil, labour, and shared ownership that defined its very existence.
The Idea
We built an identity that grows from the ground it represents. A confident, bold-set wordmark anchors the name with corporate authority, while a single dynamic leaf – rendered in fluid, layered strokes of green – carries the vitality of the plantation itself, unfurling with quiet momentum. Together, the mark achieves what few identities manage: the gravitas to sit credibly across a boardroom table, and the organic honesty to sit just as naturally on a sack of freshly harvested produce.
The Impact
Amalgamated Plantations now carries an identity as distinctive as the model it pioneered – instantly recognisable to retail partners, institutional stakeholders, and the very workers who co-own it. The mark doesn't just represent a plantation company; it gives visual permanence to a radical new model of shared enterprise, planting Amalgamated Plantations firmly on the map as India's first Corporate Farmer.
