South Indian Bank
Corporate Identity – South Indian Bank – 2024
A legacy, spoken with new authority.
The Challenge
Eight decades of trust, carried by an identity that had stopped speaking with the authority it deserved. As national and global banks sharpened their presence across Kerala, South Indian Bank risked being remembered for its legacy rather than recognised for its ambition. The task was not to modernise a mark – it was to give an institution's history a voice equal to its future.
The Idea
We replaced restraint with resonance. At the heart of the new mark is a form drawn from the very soil the bank was born in – evocative of the swaying palm, Kerala's enduring emblem of resilience and abundance – rendered in fluid, layered strokes against a deep, commanding red built to signal strength and warmth in the same breath. Distinctive at a glance, legible at any scale, unmistakable in any context. Not an evolution of the old identity, but a decisive reintroduction of the brand – heritage intact, presence transformed.
The Impact
An institution once defined by its past now commands attention on its own terms – instantly recognisable, unapologetically modern, and worthy of the trust it has spent eighty years earning. The identity didn't just meet the moment; it redefined what a legacy bank could look like in a market built for challengers.
